Johannes Salim Ismaiel-Wendt
Dr. Johannes Salim Ismaiel-Wendt studied Kulturwissenschaft (Cultural Anthropology and Cultural Studies), Sociology and Musicology at University Bremen, Germany. His PhD thesis (University Bremen, 03/2010) is entitled tracks'n'treks. Popular Music and Postcolonial Analysis. He has done writings, teachings (BA, MA) and soundlectures on aesthetics of electronic music, sounds and routes of the Black Atlantic and critical studies on the performance of cultural identities. He is a member of INPUTS (Institut für Postkoloniale and Transkulturelle Studien Bremen) and ASPM (Arbeitskreis Studium Populäre Musik). His current research focuses on performance as postcolonial knowledge production.
